HOW

It is now the end of August, not the greatest month I have had in a while but it was just made suddenly worse at the realisation that I missed an exhibition of my three favourite artists of late. Ricky Swallow, Patrick Hartigan and Ben Gauchi all together for one nice little instalment, how did i miss it?! so very, very disappointed in myself...

SALE!

Ah, I knew I forgot to post about something a while back, our garage sale!

All went well on the day (which was weeks ago now), we made a combined profit of $650, pretty good for my first time! sadly the profits have already been spent on various items mentioned in previous posts.

p.s. Loving my singing Barney the dinosaur doll!

Cameras... What? Cameras? Cameras...

Jayne has found (in the family antique shop) two box brownie's, one model E and the other a model F (in beautiful brown colour, with a nice case!). I have also discovered the Kodak Medalist and Medalist II, 620 format SLR's, which i much prefer to problems I have found with TLR's. Sadly I don't have the $250 (or more) to buy one. I can however afford to pay for film to experiment with the brownie and also get myself some wooden film spools (two loves combined in one, like going to cold rock!).

That long Huh?

I haven't updated this for a while, I never keep my blogs running long. Is there such thing as a lazy blogger? because that is what I am.

School holidays now; Mum is in Japan, Dad is... I'm not actually sure where he is today, and I am left to my own devices. This includes such things as blowing all my money on CDs that really should have been in my collection long ago or waiting for buses with old men who like to inform you of why the bus station is all smashed up AGAIN.

Possibly going to Sydney, either for a funeral or a christening - either way there will be a church visit at some point I'm sure. Hopefully getting some more markers and some oddities from Japan, that is if Mum and Patrick can find time in what sounds like a rather full trip.

Perhaps

I should have called this blog "Staring At The Screen". It seems to be all I do, when not at school at least.

Straying From The Pack

Turns out the "East-German" pack is actually Swiss military surplus.
They are generally on surplus websites for $25 U.S. upwards too, so $5 Australian was pretty good.

Now it needs a good clean, strap adjustments and I can use it.

This Weeks Finds.

Still having camera troubles, so no photos as of yet (hopefully sorted out soon).

I got a polaroid camera and case for $6, though apparently their film is no longer made.
Also an "East-German Military Backpack", though most likely just an old hiking pack, Soviet Union reproduction belt buckle and badges too.

Hot Day Garage Sale Finds/Jayne's Birthday

Went to a garage sale down the street in the boiling hot and bought a down jacket, strange purchase in such hot weather (photos soon, along with other purchases).

Celebrating Jayne's birthday with her family tomorrow night, then to school the next day on her birthday, also should be boiling hot. She flies off to Sydney to see Antony and the Johnsons at the Opera House in the afternoon, should be good (and not too hot).

End Of Holidays Procrastination/Emptying My Room.

I have for days now (on and off) been attempting to clean my room and get rid of my old things, things such as old action figures from the cartoons I watched as a kid or clothes I wore a couple of years back.
The problem is that I am a hoarder of sorts, so the stuff that gets pulled from my shelves and drawers seems to be endless. I need sleep but I can't get into my bed because it is covered with all my things.
I think perhaps the best way to solve this is to have a garage sale or a stall at a flea market, here another problem arises, I don't have enough stuff to do either of those. There is too much for my room/house yet still too little to sell and make a reasonable profit off of.

Jayne had a garage sale in the last year or so that went well, pity I didn't sell any (or much) of my stuff at hers. Perhaps a group garage sale would work well...
Now back to the endless piles of clutter.
